Sweeeet find there, J.
I've never seen or heard that kit actually played before. I really dig it.
Very cool sound, especially from the kick/floor.
It sounds absolutely MASSIVE when he accents with it, compared to the others.
That 8" snare just rips. I want one now. haha.

my 10" firecracker sounds very similar to the 8" snare. and
I wonder what the mini hats were composed of. the sounded pretty huge.

Re: Official YouTube Video Thread
that snare does sound sick, and the mini hats do sound quite large.
i'd rather have the DAXDAD then the cocktail kit.

Re: Official YouTube Video Thread
That thing is soooo rad.
Smallest kick I've played so far has been the 16x16 on the Manu Katche sig kit, and that thing was fun, but this size seems so much cooler. Very different. I'd love to have one of those.
Here's the brochure on it from Yamaha if you guys are interested.

I think I might contact a dealer soon and get a price. Not that I'm in any position to buy one quite yet, haha, but it'd be good to know.

JJ likes natural wood hoops on natural drums too.

Just as I though when I watched the video, the blue side snare was made by Joe Montineri.... his drums are so ace. Check out who is very first in the gallery.

Re: Official YouTube Video Thread
That snare is nice really flat and dry sounding with the wires giving a little sizzle, like the vultures snare. Nice.

Re: Official YouTube Video Thread
Actually now that i have turned my speakers up its more of a flat, wet smack that a dry sound. My mistake I still like it though.

Probably my favourite drumming video, and the end of the day its all fun, also some epic fills and jazz grooves in there. Nate Morton FTW!
I laugh everytime i watch it, you can't watch it and not laugh!

some of his facial expressions are hilarious.
I especially like how he'll just stare off for a minute, then BOOM crazy face!
