Also, I borrowed my friend's china for a bit while we jammed, he's got an 18" Z Custom China... which i hated the actual china, but really liked having a china. I tried it to the right of my 22" and then also on the left side of my hats. i really kind of liked it over by my hats...
i need to get myself a china.

Looks fantastic Matt, though (IMO) if one is going to use a 3 piece I'd only see it as necessary if you want to fill the gap. Nothing hurts just having it there, but whatever.

Re: Matt's UPDATED kit.
Looking good, Matt. I'm loving the Artwood. How are you liking the Hi Energy? I got one a while ago and wasn't too fond of it. All it could do was cranked to the absolute max, and even then I still didn't really like it. Mind you, this was on a 14". I can imagine it being awesome on a 12" for a really high pitched pop.
Now that I'm thinking of it, I might just try my Hi Energy on my Peace snare. It's still in good condition, and it might sound alright with the brass.

Re: Matt's UPDATED kit.
thanks guys, i really love this new little snare.
I love the hi-energy on this drum, i have it cranked, and it sounds great. The CA BP was one of the main reasons why i got the hi-energy.

Ash -- I'm kind of considering putting a cowbell in that gap, but i'm not 100% sure, I wouldn't mind getting the 12"/12" Meinl Gen-X trash stack that Greb uses.
Re: Matt's UPDATED kit.
dude that benny greb trash hat would be awesome!
I love how he uses his with his brass band.

Re: Matt's UPDATED kit.
the trash hats are actually 12"/14" matt! I its basically the gen-x splash over the filter china! They sound great and give you many options.

yeah, that was a typo. i've watched many videos of them, i really dig them, but i wish they were larger.
thanks for compliments guys.
Re: Matt's UPDATED kit.
Yeah, the trash hats are sick.
When I saw his clinic he used them quite a bit, in just the right places.
Ah. I love his kit.

his kit is so sick, even though it's got a lot more gear on it then i would care for, it's all used, and used tastefully.
Re: Matt's UPDATED kit.
I've seen some setups that he uses that just have like hats, two crashes, one with the piggbacked splash, a ride and the trash hats,
Re: Matt's UPDATED kit.
Awesome cymbals, Matt. I've already expressed my love of the Artwood and Groove Wedge on the PDF. Your kit looks like it'd be a blast to play.
Re: Matt's UPDATED kit.
it really is, i've got some additions playing around in my mind, it would be sweet if i could pull them off, but there's that whole money thing that gets in the way!
