The Official JJ Johnson Thread
Wow, those Byzance Jazz cymbals sound fantastic, especially the china.
I'm thinking when I sell my hats and crash i'll definitely pick up some HHX Manhattan Jazz hats, along with perhaps one of the Byzance Extra Thin Jazz Rides and whatever ride I get in the near future. Maybe...

I'd kill for a swish. Although I don't demand nor do I need a china, but I'd love a swish for some dark, dirty ridingSKC wrote:Have any of you listened to some sound clips on Dream chinas? They weren't very good, IMO. You guys should check out some of the Paiste Traditional swishes on cymbaylsonly.com, they are amazing.

I've been listening to a lot of Bosphorus stuff and I really like their models, like a lot! I'm really digging their rides, I'd like to get a few

Re: The Official JJ Johnson Thread
Wow the meinl byzance jazz china ride is great, same initial attack as my old stagg DH china but with lovely sustaining wash! I love it but the price tag over here would be ridiculous! I think for my next china i will get another stagg DH but a bigger size, mine sounded great but it was very hard to hear, no presence at all.
I would love a Byzance jazz crash someday, mmmmmm nice! The hats are the daddies.
Nice little set up there J, 10" snare and 18" hats, i like it
EDIT: That Felix Lehrmann cat is fantastic.

Yeah I like how he uses a smaller than normal snare and bigger than normal hats

Its all your fault! You infected me hahaha ill settle down after my 19" gets here and i replace my hats.
He keeps it directly proportional though, takes 4" off the standard 14" snare, and adds that 4" onto the standard 14" hats haha.

I have the mind of a cymbal acquisition diseased being, but not the money to support it
Seriously though, I need more money.
Well, someone graduated from Berkeley to be able to perform such complicated and complex mathematical equations.

Yea, i have a diploma in directly proportional equations, you couldn't even begin to understand the complexity of it all, people try for years to master the directly proportional equations but many go insane.

Yeah. I've been performing the difficult equation of x divided by zero. $1,000 to give me the answer.
And you just made the 1,000 post in this thread.

x/0 = 0 x2/19+"45d" - £3.00 ~ $21 = 9-9 = 0
. 0
$1,000 please

Did you really just put a bunch of random numbers and signs together?Dave-the-drummer wrote:InSight. wrote:Yeah. I've been performing the difficult equation of x divided by zero. $1,000 to give me the answer.

I'll use the term indeterminate.

No..........
X/0 really does equal 0

No, it has no value/answer. It is an undetermined number (actually the term indeterminate is far more appropriate).

Not me
I'm quite content with all of my cymbals. Some days, I'm ready to sell my 18" Meinl and get a 20" Bliss, but I get over it pretty quickly.

Every now and then I get onto YouTube and check out some really great pies that I would love to have. But I never check out the price cause I know it would just kill me.
I'm sure I'd be getting new stuff all the time if I lived in the US, and I'm sure you would too. Oh, it's not as if you're not trying though.

If I lived in the US I think I'd have one of the most epic cymbal selections, they don't realise just how lucky they are

Re: The Official JJ Johnson Thread
I think I have the most mild case of Cymbal Acquisition disease.... There are plenty of cymbals I wouldn't mind having, but I rarely actually get any of them.
I'm still surprised that I went out and got all the new Dreams. That was very unlike me.

You like sound smart don't you, you remind of Ross from Friends. What a show, i love the fact that its on everyday, it has NO bad episodes. Best sitcom of our time IMO.
