another thing I noticed mike said something about playing on a pillow like "what on your drumset feels like a pillow?
well what on your drumset feels like a magazine on a floortom?

yeah, i don't understand everything he says all the time or agree with him, but he can play....

I got what he meant but he did contradict himself a wee bit! Lets not rip him apart, i personally enjoy his lessons, fair enough this one had flaws but i mean we all have flaws (apart from Jesus, he rocked). Like i said before that video proves that Mike is not the terminator but a mere human

im not trying to rip him apart, he is no doubt a talented drummer and has some good exercises. im just sick of the fact that every douche bag with a pair of sticks and a camera thinks that they can teach drums. case in point...

...now im not saying that mike johnston is as bad as this guy...he's not even close. i just tend to dislike all online "drum lessons". you cant learn, let alone teach, drums on the internet.

just my 2 cents. i understand many people disagree with me, and thats fine. and i really do enjoy mike's playing.

hell you can't really double with fingers only like with no wrist or stroke.

well higher speed doubles are going to require for you to pretty much squeeze the stick between the the thumb and first finger. it's easier at higher speeds to use more arm than wrist..
