Sabian: 1 of 100
Sabian just unearthed the artisan rides they buried 8 months ago and here is a comparison video they made between a ride from the vault and one that was buried. I personally prefer Ks to both sounds but thats just me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AS3izRsM7eY
Re: Sabian: 1 of 100
thanks for showing that, i saw the video earlier this week when they dug them all up, i like the sound they make, but i like the original sound too, i guess i'll just have to buy both. haha. yeah right!!

Wow, that's pretty cool, thanks for the video.
I'd love to be able to buy my cymbals directly from the vault... look at that selection.

The thing is, they don't have a controlled variable. I mean, if they buried the Light Ride, buyers could compare them to the originals, but with them being a new Artisan Ride they have nothing to compare. Meaning, who knows what the burial has done, probably no body but Sabian, which is just stupid.

Its an easy DIY project. All you need is a shovel and 8+ months.
Re: Sabian: 1 of 100
they do have control though, its not a sold one but they made some 21s at the same time as the others and just stuck them in the vault for 8 months
Re: Sabian: 1 of 100
yeah, i'm kind of tempted to bury my old paiste 502 ride... i won't but i'm tempted, haha.

its proabably already aged as it is though
Re: Sabian: 1 of 100
well i mean i say old, it's not that old, maybe 5 or 6 years old, but not like elderly, just old as in unused.
Re: Sabian: 1 of 100
Yea. Put it in the ground for 3 years. Do it. I bet the results happen exponentially.

Then make your phone remind you once a month
Re: Sabian: 1 of 100
meh, maybe i'll just by a big pot, put the cymbal in the pot, and put soil in the pot, leave that out on my porch and then i wouldn't forget it, but man, that would have to be a big pot....
Re: Sabian: 1 of 100
Exactly, I did say only Sabian will know. Of course they will have a controlled variable, but why do you think it'll probably take a good part of a year before you'll even see a normal one on the market?sjman409 wrote:they do have control though, its not a sold one but they made some 21s at the same time as the others and just stuck them in the vault for 8 months

yeah, but in the ground would receive so much more of the natural processes. Something that may not occur so much in a pot.Matt wrote:meh, maybe i'll just by a big pot, put the cymbal in the pot, and put soil in the pot, leave that out on my porch and then i wouldn't forget it, but man, that would have to be a big pot....

You will be limited to a 6" splash at the biggest...
Re: Sabian: 1 of 100
