Ash's Sonors.
**2nd Edit: Pictures resized**
Okay, since I just want to initially whore it around, I went and took a few pictures. SO much has changed since my last official pictures, such as: K Custom, Artisan, flat-base hardware, wood hoops and skins (including the Fiberskyn).
Still coming is a Constantinople flat ride and J1 for my 10" (plus some other small goodies).
So enjoy:

Very sturdy, the ride has a slightly wobble, and if struck hard as does the tom. But for normal playing I've had no problems at all.sjman409 wrote:nice looking kit. How sturdy is flat-base hardware?

Nope, never really been into that. I don't think I'd find a comfy position.Matt wrote:get looking kit, for some reason i thought you had your rack tom on a snare stand like the rest of us, haha

It depends on size for me, if i have one rack and if it is a 10" itll be mounted off the Kick but if it is a 12" itll be of a cymbal stand. If my rack is a 13" itll be off a snare stand.
And my offsets are always off a cymbal stand.

Re: Ash's Sonors.
Perhaps if I had some more room, what with the Bass Drum being 22" and all. But I have no need, it's perfectly positioned. I wouldn't put a 10" on a snare stand, perhaps a 12" and I wouldn't use a 13" anyway.Dave-the-drummer wrote:InSight. wrote:

I always love seeing your kit Ash. But, like always, you really need that Flatride.

Re: Ash's Sonors.
So your main crash will be on the right ? the flat ride is your LS ride? thats different! I like it!
I would have put the artisan as my LS crash , then put both rides out right! But i like what you're doing! Nice!

Re: Ash's Sonors.
Yeah, but a crash on the right feels natural for me now. And I want to really work on my open-handed playing, especially with the jazz swing ride cymbal pattern, I have a lot of trouble with that on my left. Straight patterns, I really picked up very quick and it's beginning to feel natural, but I need to work on it to apply to my jazz.

Re: Ash's Sonors.
i never really play much open handed stuff, i only ever have one groove that requires it! Thats a cool idea though dude! Can't wait to see your kit with new hats and the Flat ride!

As can I. I really can't wait to look into some Istanbul Agop Turk hats, however. If I can track some down to try.
