Probably my favourite drumming video, and the end of the day its all fun, also some epic fills and jazz grooves in there. Nate Morton FTW!

Pure Genius! After listening to those really old recordings of myself and thinking how much my drumming has improved since then i was feeling confident, almost proud. Jammed along to sum tracks and played my butt off. Then i found this video, people were complaining that he shouldn't have beaten Mike Portnoy for best prog drummer, Portnoy couldn't lick this guys balls IMO. What a drummer Gavin Harrison is, i always was a fan and new he was really creative but this video is pure genius, simple main pocket groove but the little things and the way he embellishes the groove and flows around the kit like that are amazing. My jaw literally dropped and the bit starting at around 2.25 made me smile so much.
Back to the pads for me.....
Also his kit sounds awesome especially that snare, sounds huge! And i love little bell splashes he made himself from broken cymbals.

Yea i have always realy liked him, i think he posted a few videos back in 2005 and i remember being like "wow", ever since then he has been up there with my favourites.
That was a funny performance with all the things falling, first the wingnut, then the felt, then the splash haha, its benny though so who cares.

Re: Official YouTube Video Thread
Just posted this in the JJ thread a few minutes ago, so probably most of you will see it, but just in case...
Maybe I'm really late on something, but I found these tonight and thoroughly enjoyed watching them.
Footage of Mayer from the original writing/tracking session of 'In Repair' with Steve Jordan and Charlie Hunter. Pretty awesome stuff, I thought.

(Charlie Hunter to Steve Jordan)
"Dude, that groove is just... disgusting, man!"
Hahahaha.

I've seen that before, but definitely didn't mind watching it again.
In Repair is easily one of my favorite JM songs.

I love Steve Jordan.
I swear he could post a video of him just playing quarter notes on the hi hats and nothing else and i'd love it.

Re: Official YouTube Video Thread
Yeah, it would be the most straight forward thing ever, but would probably sound so groovy.
