Had the 22" Extra-Light at band practice tonight, this thing is a dream. It really went so well with the music, and the beautiful wash filled it in very well, something the HD at times lacked. And Levi, they noticed the new ride immediately, surprising.

Congrats on the new ride, Ash. It looks absolutely beautiful and I'm sure it sounds even better.
Looking forward to some more pics of setup.

I'm not too sure how I feel about the music.
I mean... you're right, it's very organic and pretty original, and I appreciate that, but I'm not sure if it's something I could listen to consistently though. A lot of Jack White's material is like that for me though. Very hit or miss, typically. Like, I've never been able to get into the White Stripes stuff at all, but The Raconteurs debut album is probably one of my all time favorites.

I may have to get the full album before I can make up my mind on this new stuff.

I have to admit though, his playing with Dead Weather is pretty dang solid. I'm actually really digging it. He definitely seems to know what he's doing... granted he looks a bit awkward doing it. I'd attribute that probably first to the fact that he hasn't played drums in over a decade, and secondly to his very interesting setup. haha. I'm very impressed overall though.

Yeah it is suprising how good his pocket is and he hasn't picked up stick in 10 years...I guess it is like riding a bike

I agree with you on the music I love The White Stripes' "White Blood Cells"...however "Elephant" I hated...

I want to get the whole album before I decide if I really like it or not...

In other news the Catalina Club Jazz should be in before Friday!!

sorry to hear that matt. ugh these jazz independence exercises i got from my instructor are really messing with my head. They seems so simple but then i go to play them and i can barely do it. ugh triplets are driving me insane

for about USD380. which is pretty cheap round these parts.

if i had an extra 1500 bucks, i'd totally snatch an MCX with that deal musiciansfriend has right now, i could get 10/12/14/16/22 with a double elim pedal for 1500....

naw, i hate having debt and owing people money... not to mention, right now, would be a stupid time to buy a new kit, i only really get to play like once a month if i'm lucky, and i am going to start saving for a house and a new car

it's part of getting old, and the best part about it is, i'm pumped about it all.
