the jingle wedge is SICK for rimshots, at Fork's they have on one of the pearl 12x7 snares, and the shots on that are sick.

as for the tracks, i think my favorite might be burn the bridge, but i've only played through each track once without giving any of them a lot of attention.

Burn the bridge is OK i don't really like it anymore, but for me Denny's Track is just so cool and "hip" ¡This Cheese is Burning Me!
The ITALOJAZZER is so energetic and fun, and my secret favourite Lets Play One is so chill and nice but i don't think its a good enough track for a "competition".

I just like the feel of denny's track the most.

Yea the jingle wedge, i don't know how i ever rimshotted without it haha
I would post pics but im waiting for my dream to arrive first, im thinking a sizzle chain on my dream would be nice.

My snare is definately the coolest PDP snare haha, the gibraltar throw off looks way better and the groove wedge looks dope with the natural against the tobacco., makes me want to get natural kick hoops.

But i need money......

Hey, nice to hear from you. Did you end up coming to Townsville? I think I remember a US ship came here a few weeks ago.

$500 isn't too bad for a UFiP, by Australian standards.

ha, probably like 30 times, i have a terrible memory.

man, Musiciansfriend has a slick deal on MCX drums, you can get a 4 piece setup + a free floor tom + a free double eliminator pedal for 1559.

tis a shame i'm not in the market, or i'd totally get a new MCX in lime sparkle fade.

Woah,
thats a sweet deal.

I never have money though.

I dig lime Fade Sparkle too. Todd Sucherman played an MCX with that finish when he did a clinic here in May.

Also matt congrats on the job!
I hope i can get some more students, that way i can avoid having a "normal" job. I really want a job in music- specifically percussion- even more specifically drums, i think id rather be a good teacher than a small time session guy, just something about teaching people really appeals to me.
Saying that though if could have any kind of drumming job i would take it, even if i didn't earn that much as long as i had enough to pay bills and get by id be more than happy, besides im pretty sure my girlfriend will be rich haha she got offered a job in tenerife playing piano at a jazz club but she couldn't take it as it was offered to her 2 days before she came back here.

Anywho, im excitied to see what you dudes come up with for the drum off. I really really want to play ITALOJAZZER, its awesome, i think ill make a vid of it even if we don't choose it.
Ill make a poll soon to vote for the track we will be doing.
My favourites are definitely ITALOJAZZER, Dennys Track and Lets play one 100. But i think lets play one 100 isn't a good enough track to base a competition on, again ill probably post a video of me playing it at some stage but its more of a chilled out brushwork song (to me anyways, thats how i like it played), nothing really exciting about it.......
whereas ITALOJAZZER has pure energy, heavy syncopation, double time and halftime grooves, contrasting loud and quiet dynamics and sections, cross stick patterns, loads of cymbal work, nice fill sections and loads of time to groove. Its great IMO.
Dennys track again is on the simpler side of town, but i found that i can be most creative with this track, and at the same time really lay it down and have fun with it. While it is simple i found my grooves where pretty creative and rhythmic, lots of time for tasteful fills and ride cymbal work . Great track, the jingle wedge was made for that track haha.

went to MDS today and they totally gave me a crappy quote for me selling my kit to them. I decide not to get the Ludwig. I found a gretsch Catalina jazz in sliver sparkle so it will match my kit

so wait, you're going to keep the catalina rock, and get a catalina jazz that matches so then you'll have a load of catalinas? fair enough...

what all sizes will that provide you with then?
