Re: 61's Set.
thanks Matt. It's pretty comfortable. I mean I kinda miss out on a few elaborate fills here and there, but really I've been focusing on just kick, snare, and hats and trying to get creative and it's been working pretty well. I guess I'm pushing myself to be a little more creative and I think I've improved. All in all, it's fun!

Re: 61's Set.
How did you like it when you had it setup as a 3 piece?

Re: 61's Set.
I love my three piece... even though it's technically a 4 piece with my side snare.
i occasionally wish i had a rack tom, but i really like the flow of playing on a 3 piece, my body just feels different when i play, i don't know how else to explain it.

Re: 61's Set.
I get that. I've been meaning to get a side snare. Looking at the Chris Alder sig snare ... that or a Walnut BP. I mean, when it comes to comfort, I try to find that flow and everything just works.

Re: 61's Set.
Awesome, man. What are the hihats, Bliss over Contact or vice versa? Also, since you have an X7, I assume you have 4 other drums laying around?
Re: 61's Set.
Vise versa. I like it a little more. Haha, yea it's a drag sometimes and for my next kit, I'll be sure not to get a 7 piece... half of this buy was impulse, I think - but I've used each drum equally I suppose. I'll usually swap the 10" or 12" into the setup, thinking about the 12" - how do you like yours?

Oh, I love my MXR. I'm very pleased with it. Its the right setup, close to the right sizes and thin maple shelled just like my dream kit. On the brightside, with 7 drums you get experience with all those sizes and will know for sure what sizes you want your next kit to be.
Re: 61's Set.
That's good. I guess the experience helped but for my next kit, I've already had something planned. Hopefully it'll be my dream kit because other than that, it may take a while. I've always known I wanted to an extent and this just help pronouce it a little more. I've always wanted a thin shelled maple kit (with the reinforcement rings but doesn't bother me much) so that's what I'm going to go for next. How's the 24"?

I dig it. The depth of it is probably my only gripe with the kit. My dream size is 24x14. I've wanted a 24" kick for awhile now. I am kind of holding my judgement for it until I get the drumheads I really want, but I can already tell you I'm enjoying it a lot.
Re: 61's Set.

I've had the coated EMAD on order forever now. Guitar Center is just being a pain to deal with. I'll get a Fiberskyn PS3 for the resonant. That's the same kick combo I had on the Swingstar and I loved it.
Re: 61's Set.
Can't wait to here it! You had a picture on the PDF of you sitting behind your kit with a red shirt on or something, you mind posting that again? I wanna compare something.

Sure. I just had the picture and decided to post it so people could compare the proportions. It'll probably be a little less weird if I post it in my own thread.
