Wait,
new heads, and hats?
What are the specs on the new hats? And what splash is that, looks cool?

oh I've these heads on for a while. I just flipped over my head combo. the J1s are on the bottom.
the splash is very weird. It's called Glennie's Garbage. She is a famous percusiionist that happens to be deaf!
it is a weird sounding cymbal.. it's also a silver/nickel allow.

Woah, cool. How did you manage to get that for less than a dime?

ohh wel the splash technically isn't mine yet...
but I traded an old boom stand I had for these 14" solar hats. I'm going to hand hammer them myself. I have the tools. (inspired by Bettis). but these hats actually sound good enough as they are to stay on the kit!!

Oh nice,
I have a set of those hats kicking around, I was thinking of doing something with them. What tools do you need?

yeah. it definately does. that's why it has such a clicky stick!InSight. wrote:Pretty cool. That dream looks like it has a really flat profile.
yeah the setup is just like having two floor toms only.. and with aux hats in the tom position. well obviously. i don't know why I just explained that..Matt wrote:interesting setup.

haha it just seems more practical on the outside, even though everyone has there's on the inside.

Yeah, and nothing like putting it on, putting the head back on, tuning it up. Then discover you want it shifted a bit.J. wrote:haha it just seems more practical on the outside, even though everyone has there's on the inside.

Doesn't it sort of defeat the purpose of the Fiberskyn; an open boomy sound? I don't think I'd go with a Fiberskyn on my Metro kit, a bit too boomy for my liking. Doesn't sound all that nice to me, it may sound better from out front.

gimme a couple weeks to scrounge up some change from the couch cushions....
Re: J's new setup. impulses ftw!
I don't know if the hammering will go well on the solar hats, bettis uses top notch B20 alloy but the solars are eugh! I personally hate them (solars) but each to their own!
Its an interesting set up none-the-less! The splash looks really good!
