I dunno, his Ayottes are amazingly nice, but I think I like his Ludwigs a little bit more.

I think it looks a little smaller than his usual 24" kick 13"x9" rack 16" and 18" floors. I can' tell if he has 2 floors in the wmp or not.
I would guess 22"x16" kick, 12"x8 rack, 16"x14" floor and 18"x16". plus one of his many many snares.

I'm gonna agree with Dave on the kick, but I think he's still using the 13x9 rack tom, 16x16 and 18x16 setup. Again, you can't really tell if it's one or two floors.

Re: Official JJ JOHNSON thread (on JJ Johnson himself).
Here's a video with a few decent shots of the Ayotte kit, in case some of you guys haven't seen it.
Sounds great too. Especially the snare, which I think is his 14x6.5 Keplinger.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WA8jmW-4WEs
He
may have had a second floor tom, but I think every time I've seen this
kit he was only using one, and this is no exception. And I'm thinking
he's got a 12" up front on this kit, but it is hard to tell.
That big snare fill he rips into at 1:35 almost overpowers the rest of the band in the mix. haha. I dig it.

Apparently he uses Texture Coated top and bottom on his toms, I would guess a TC snare batter, no idea about his bass or snare side.

Re: Official JJ JOHNSON thread (on JJ Johnson himself).
From what I've seen, I think he's usually running a Texture Coated Force I on the batter side of the kick.
I could be wrong, but I haven't noticed the black muffle ring around the edge, which are characteristic of the SuperKick and Impact bass heads, so the Force seems like the most likely option.
That, or maybe even just a standard 22"-24" Texture Coated or Response 2 batter head is a possibility also. Did the Modern Drummer article mention anything about it ?
