No, it's made by Cube drums (the picture above it). They're a company based in Germany, and I like their lugs! I must find out where they get them.

Yeah, but are they the same? I mean, how many lug-makers are there out there.

yeah, I suppose. I just wonder if Paul would do anything similar, but I'm afraid that if he does they'll be extremely expensive.

Soon.

I've had such a boring day that it makes me feel depressed, and I can't be bothered doing anything when I'm depressed.

I wouldn't think the lugs would push the price up that much Ash.

Also, I'm almost certain that I'm getting Ash Burl over Blackwood ply for my Metro. Mmm, it will be good.

Well it depends, if he must custom make them or something I'd assume they would.

I was thinking that for my snare, but I'd rather just a smooth maple. And I would need to pay for a veneer, so it would be pretty stupid. And I'd need to let you have it!
Btw, does drumsum work at cymbalsplus? He seemed to store many/all the snares on their website, and you bought many dreams from him.

Yes, you would need to let me be the only with it. And I see Ash Burl as being just sort of like a fancy version of maple. Seeing as I'm getting the Blackwood ply, if I want that look, both Ash Burl and maple will cost the same, so I might as well get the fancy one.

I'm pretty sure he owns it. I think he got into contact with Dream, or one of their distributors, and got a few shipments of cymbals. I think he got the first shipment, which was only Contact, Bliss and Chinas, then he got another shipment a bit later, which had Energys, Vintage Blisses, and all the gongs. Then I think he gets a few little shipments here and there every so often.

And as for the Metro's, I think Paul still owns the snares, he's just using CymbalsPlus as a way to sell them.

Yes, Blackwood ply, with an Ash Burl veneer.

What should I go for, 6 ply or 8 ply?

I think I'm going to go with 6ply. I guess.

Do whatever you like.

I also wonder how much shipping would be. Not so much for you, but for me way down in Victoria pale

I dunno, it's probably about the same distance from Brisbane to here as it is to Vic. But maybe going interstate would jack up the price a bit.

I think I'm fairly set on most of the specs, but the shell thickness is still up in the air. I've heard so many good thin shell drums, (Delites, Saturns) but then I'm worried about if it won't project as well.

The best drums I've ever heard in my life, were Sonor Delites. I rocked up at this gig once, just as the headlining band was soundchecking. The drum sound was massive, it filled up every inch of the venue. After they finished I went up and checked out his kit, and sure enough, they were Delites.

So right now I'm leaning towards 6 ply, but I'm still open to persuasion.

Delites are amazing drums. I would go with proportionate shells, IMO, because of the fact that you loose projection as you get to the floor toms and the bass. The thicker shell will help project, and the drums should maintain the amount of sensitivity and resonance you need.
